The Excelsior-Lake Minnetonka Chamber of Commerce is hosting the 4th annual Jake O'Connors's Luck o' the Lake 5K Fun Run is taking place Saturday March 12th. In addition to the 5K, there will also be a new 1 mile kids run right through the street of downtown Excelsior and Greenwood. The online registration will end on March 9th but you will be able to register in Jake O'Connors until 8:30 AM March 12th. The registration for the 5K includes a long sleeve Sportek Tech T-shirt, a collectors pint glass from Excelsior Brewing Co, and a free beer ticket redeemable at Jake O'Conners.
This is the first of three total races that the 2016 Lake Minnetonka Running Series will have so it is always good to use these fun runs to keep in shape and be active in the community and in the early spring. While there will be a competitive spirit among a possible few competitors, the race is truly accessible to anyone wanting to join. There is no time limit nor anything against simply walking the event. If you feel the urge to get out and join the community please give their registration page a visit. If you register before the end of the month you will get a savings of $10 on the registration. Feel free to come on down and celebrate St. Patrick's day a little early this year and get some fun exercise in while you are at it.
